Supervisor Title: Director of NT Solar
Location: Remote (US-based). Optional office access in Washington, DC and Scottsdale, AZ.
Salary range: $130,000 - 150,000
As a leading national tax credit syndicator, NT Solar finances the transformation of sustainable communities nationwide with Solar Investment Tax Credits (ITC) and Production Tax Credits (PTC). Our investment team raises capital from investors and directs it to developers managing solar and renewable energy projects. NT Solar is a subsidiary of the National Trust Community Investment Corporation (NTCIC), an affiliate of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and one of the most active tax credit syndicators in America.

WORK OBJECTIVES: |
NT Solar is hiring a Transaction Manager to oversee investment due diligence, closings, and fundings for up to $300MM annually in tax equity transactions with multiple investor and developer partners. The role also includes business development and process improvement responsibilities.

DUTIES: |
- Lead and participate in transaction closings, including managing closing calls, negotiating and finalizing transaction documents, and working closely with outside counsel to ensure timely, cost-effective closings while tracking and controlling legal expenses.
- Prepare, review, and present comprehensive due diligence packages and investment reports to both internal NTCIC Investment Committee and external investors for review and approval.
- Collect, evaluate, and critique all required due diligence materials, including project engineering studies, appraisals, off-take contracts, incentive purchase agreements, and land leases, ensuring alignment with closing checklists and organizational guidelines.
- Analyze developer financial projections, off-taker and guarantor creditworthiness, and make necessary adjustments in accordance with NT Solar, accounting firm, and investor underwriting policies.
- Identify key underwriting, investment, or reputational risks during the deal process, proactively recommend solutions or deal structure changes to mitigate these risks, and provide a solutions-oriented, independent perspective throughout the transaction.
- Serve as primary liaison between external investors, developer teams, and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and seamless collaboration throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Manage and prioritize multiple transactions simultaneously, consistently meeting deadlines, and keeping the Director and senior management informed of timelines, delays, emerging issues, and risks.
- Prepare deal transition memos and work closely with asset management to ensure smooth post-closing fundings and ongoing compliance oversight.

QUALIFICATIONS: |
- Bachelor's degree with emphasis in environmental studies, engineering or finance (or equivalent work experience); a master's degree in business or finance is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of investment analysis or underwriting experience, with a background in renewable energy project finance, development, tax credit investing, or syndication.
- A thorough understanding of solar incentive programs, including state renewable energy credits, trading, community solar, net metering, and tax credit ownership structure.
- Strong skills in financial analysis and proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel), Microsoft O365 tools, and database and presentation software; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Experience in legal, tax and accounting aspects of tax credit projects preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications, including strong presentation skills; writing samples may be requested.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating seamless teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; occasional travel required.

- Adept at balancing the needs of financing providers with overall transaction constraints, including familiarity with the terms of various financing sources.
- Familiarity and comfort with the relevant terms and details commonly present with these transactions.
- Proficient at managing multiple sources of data and implementing effective data management systems across transactions at various stages.
- Ability to analyze complex financial models for accuracy, programmatic compliance, credit risk and accounting principles.
- Skilled in reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating complex legal and financial documents, and ensuring programmatic compliance, credit risk assessment, and sound accounting principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, counterparties, counsel, and third-party service providers throughout the transaction process.
